I want to turn the boost up today to 24#

Right now the car is set at 18 ish and using the stock settings on the TT chip.

I have the PO notes from the dyno session where he had everything set to make the most power at 24 boost.

He was +5% fuel 6.5 alky and the car did 424/563 uncorrected numbers.

I know I need to shorten the rod to make more boost and change the chip settings for fuel.

Is there anything else I need to do?

I've attached the dyno sheet and chip data.

Yea just don't crank it all the way up at once.

Def post results. Be curious to see. A GoPro shot of your expression would be nice too haha

Make it rich first to error on the side of caution. Watch 02's and remember 1lb of boost is roughly 40counts on the ScanMaster. Alky won't really richen the mixture, but surpress any kr. Also, you will lean out as you get to the top of 3rd, so make sure you have room when it shifts to 3rd.
Text me if you need to.

Thanks for the help guys!

TT/Ameasap I'm going to shoot for the first weekend in Oct to head your way if that works for you. Gona order 60# injectors and a new chip this week.

Ok so I shortened the rod by making 4 turns. I can not get the rod back on the lever? It's to short and I had to turn it back the other way where it was to get the rod back on?

What am I doing wrong?

You're not pulling hard enough.. :)
Four turns may be a lot of extra boost. Try it with two turns and see how much boost you get.

If it's mechanically not long enough to attach then go to your local hardware store and get a stiff spring (or a few to try) and use it along with the actuator. Even at its shortest length the exhaust pressure may still blow the puck open so an additional spring may be needed.

I got it! I turned it 2 turns. I'm counting a turn as basically a 1/2 turn. Is this correct?

Just pull harder. If the guy before you ran that high of a psi w/ just the rod it's possible

Ok, just went for a little run.

I added 5% fuel and 22 psi.

I took 5% away in first gear because the PO did that at the dyno.

The car runs better! 02's 781 and 1.2 knock with 5.5 alky. Do you suppose the knock could have ben in first gear?

What now?

hold both buttons down on the scanmaster. It'll show you what MPH the max knock happened at.

Ok, thanks I'll have to do that after the next run.

To clarify what I'm counting as a turn. 1 turn would be pulling the rod off and turning it 1 spin and putting it back on. So basically from 12 o'clock to 6 o'clock.

I just turned it 2 more and didn't really get more boost. I may have to add a spring. I'm going to turn it back 2 turns and go from there. That was yielding 22 psi. I'll tune that and slowly move up.

Since I'm tuning on the street and the PO tuned on the dyno I need to use his notes as a baseline and pay attention to the scanmaster. I just got a 6.6 knock at 781 02. I didn't know I could hold the button and see the mph the knock happened at. My guess is it happen when I spun the tires. I have been running hard in first and second and a little in to 3rd. I'm on a 2 lane highway with minimal traffic but I don't like going to fast on public roads. My 275 DR's are holding pretty good when I hit it from a roll.

I think my fuel seems close to being right. I wonder if I should try and take some timing out? Or just add more fuel? What do you guys think? I had a little knock on the first run and I'm adjusting the turbo back to that setting before I go back out again.

Nope, you're only shortening the rod half a turn if you've gone from 12 O'clock to the 6 O'clock position. You must turn it a full 360degrees, not 180degrees that you've been doing to count it as 1 full turn. Eg 12 O'clock to 12 O'clock.

Ok that's probably why the boost isn't moving up much. LOL

Well I guess I only have one full turn right now.

I had a scary event happen. I squeezed into it from a roll and the car spooled up and went for a bit then fell on it's face. I had a 1/4 tank of gas and when I turned around I noticed the gas gauge bouncing around. I wasn't sure how accurate the gas gauge is so I went and got gas. Now it pulls hard like before. I put 14 gallons of gas in and I'm not sure how much it holds but I won't run it that empty again.

I might turn it up some more and try another run now that I have a full tank. I might have been starving the fuel pump?

The absolute most I've ever put in my tank was 17.4 gallons. Using the stock pump heights, there's 1.8 gallons you can't reach without lowering the pump.

I was probably starving the pump then. Don't know what else could have caused it. The car ran a little funny after that on the drive to the gas station. Almost felt like it did when my PCV hose came off creating a vacuum leak. Runs fine now.

When I tune I only do 3rd gear pulls. I put the car in 3rd gear and get up to about 55-60 MPH then slowly mash the throttle to WOT until I reach 5000-5200 rpm then I shift too overdrive and let off the throttle. I don't know if this is right but it is what I do.

First and second gear are hard to tune on the street. I usually leave that for the track. I make 3rd gear pulls and tune from that. Basically the same as you, except I like to lock it up.
