going to twist the frame on a T-Top car?

I did some mods to my car, mainly a front mount intercooler. My car is a T-Top car and I am hoping to run in the high 11s with what I have done. The question that I have is, at what point not having a cage do I have to worry about twisting the frame. I know that I will need a cage to run 11.999 or faster and I do plan on putting one in the car in the spring. However, I am looking to go one more time in at the track before it is closed for the winter. I can deal with getting kicked off running 11s, however I can not deal with F*cking up the frame. Can every one please post there ET times, 60 feet times, and if they had slicks on, that are running a T-Top car without a cage?

Thanks,
Jay

Twisting the frame? I wouldn't worry about that. I've heard of guys launching reall hard and getting cracks/creases in the body by the rear 1/4 windows. I've never seen it in person... just what I've heard.

With that in mind, I would think about is putting the rear seat x-braces in and maybe also doing the Kirban front triangle (under the car).

FYI, my car has no bends, cracks, or creases. I ran 11.70-80's all last season with my t-top car. It had no rollbar, no frt swaybar, DOT slicks, ATR rear bar, and pulled high 1.5x - low 1.6x 60's. The only bracing I had was the front triangle and the body bushings.

-Banning.

I have t-tops and all of the braces but no bar yet and ran 11.38 with a 1.55 60'. I am sure there are plenty of other things you will hurt long before you twist your frame.

Thanks guys, been looking at this post and had the same question as 1BadAssV6.

The cracks that develop are more of a long term deal, basically any bracing you do will help prevent it. Back seat braces, front braces (top and bottom) and the like will help prevent this.

Jay I have gone 11.99 at 113 and my car is a T-Top car.I put the Xbraces in trunk and put in the GNX bushings and the missing bushings.I also boxed my lower control arms on the rear.I still run the front and rear sway bars.I don't think you will hurt your frame.

Stock rear sway bar, front sway bar in, all the bracing tricks and replaced body bushings. See sig for times. I bet it has a lot to do with if the front wheels come off the ground.

T-Top cars like to crack by the front windsheild pillars inside the door jams towards the top. Bracing and body bushings help.

my hardtop GN has cracks on the lower left corner of the passenger side rear seat window...have had them for years and my car was stock! i never had seat braces and i am going to invest in some this winter...my cracks are pretty visible too...at least the paint isn't coming off...yet...
