Hello all this is going to be my first post, so if I make any mistakes, sorry. I am looking for a good mechanic for my 87 GN. I live in Maryland and have heard of a guy named Billy Anderson, what does every one think? Any one else have any names to drop that do good work? Any one have any names of mechanic not to go to? Please send me Private Messages because I know that it is not a good idea to upset the Buick community, since I am sure not every one is going to be of the same opinion. Thanks all!!!!!!

I bought my GN about this time last year and a good friend of mine does most of work (check my signature), he is the owner of General Automotive Services in Gaithersburg. I am not sure what kind of work your looking to have done, but he is one of the best mechanics I know and is as honest as they come. He is more than happy to speak with anyone about anything automotive and if he can't help you he will steer you in the right direction. I have dealt with Brian Weaver in the past and he is the man when it comes to TR's. Let me know if you need a phone number for GAS since they are fairly close to you and I give him a heads up. Shoot me an email if you want my numbers, although I am still learning too, I might be able to pass on my experiences.

Billy is southeast of Baltimore and specializes in high performance cars. Further north is frankg (his name on this bb) in Elkton. Don't know what kind of work you need done, but Vernon's Automotive in Laurel works on TR's all the time. They are good general mechanics but don't build motors or tune racecars. I live close by and hang out there all the time. Phone is 301-498-2700. There is a gas station/garage either in Silver Spring or DC owned by two brothers who are supposed to be real good with TR's but I can never remember their names. I searched the archives but couldn't find them, even though I know it's been posted before. Another friend has opened up a new shop called Dave Warren's FastLane Performance in Brandywine, MD, 301-782-3737. He does mostly frame and rollbar work but can narrow rear ends and set them up, along with engine and other work. He's a master at welding, especially welding and porting cracked exhaust manifolds.

Bill Anderson is the man bottom line in MD!You will not find faster well built cars anywhere in Md. that I know of.I have a storage lot beside his shop & the cars that roll out of there are bad ass!Not the cheapest guy in town but you get what you pay for period.I'm not sure of the amount of cars he has worked on.Seen alot of Stage 2 Gn's,T's,even GNX 234,Turbo stangs etc...But when you see a mid 60's vette fully blown running like crap & Bill has it straightened out in 20 minutes all I can say is he's the man.Twin turbo charged hummers... I think he's passing on anymore of those!
You need parts come see me! ;)
