So, NASCAR is in Phoenix this weekend.

The Team Penske guys took over the area where my guys normally install tint on vehicles to do an engine swap on Joey Logano's Cup Car. I was glad to let tem take over the space. :D

Pretty effin' cool!

The truck got here at 7:30. Four techs arrived at 8:00 and unloaded the car, tools and new engine.

At 11:45 it looked as if they had never even been here.

Are you guys hiring? I could get them one heck of a deal on bumper fillers for that thing.:D

What is the story behind them choosing your shop? Close to the track or the old "its not what you know but who you know" thing?

Did you go to the race with passes from the team?

It's a Penske Automotive facility that is located close enough to the track, but it's far away from prying eyes. :D

We just finished construction on a Post Delivery Inspection building and we weren't planning on moving in to it until today, so it created the perfect storm. They've done work on several Xfinity cars in my shop before, but this was the first Cup car we've hosted.

I gave my son and a couple of his friends my suite tickets, I've been to more races than I can count. Instead, I spent a lazy afternoon fooling around with the Buick, drinking beer and flipping channels between the race and the Cardinals game.

I am still a NASCAR race virgin but some day I'll make a race.

It's definitely an experience. You will have a completely different perspective on it once you have actually been there.

I know it changes everything you thought you knew. I have not missed a F1 race on TV since '79 but when I went to COTA for the first F1 race I was... "like a giddy school girl with a strong breeze up my skirt!" :D
