goodmark gas tank

just got a new goodmark gas tank, it is not painted and does not appear to have a coating on it. does anyone know what they are made of and do i have to paint it?

www.goodmarkindustries.com, i actually bought the tank on ebay for almost a hundred bucks less. but it showed up in a goodmark box with a goodmark label on it.

I cleaned and painted my original gas tank seven years ago with silver metallic and clear. It looks brand new to this day and the rubber washes off with a garden hose. If I was doing a new tank I would use a good quality ureuthane base coat clearcoat.
