Thanks to everyone for the offers of transport and trailers.

At this point I will only need to get a trailer. My new truck is about to start earning his money as far as I'm concerned.

I'm going to try and arrange picking the car up very soon. I will let everyone know what the status is soon on here or at the cookout.

Don't forget about: http://buick.r00td0wn.net

I'll post pics there frequently as well as progress.

Jeremy,
Glad to hear your ok...the car can be replaced or fixed! Anyhow, give my buddy Bryan a call, he has mucho G bodies for sale. Matter of fact I have a grey 1986 T-Type rolling chassis and a NA rosewood limited sitting at my place right now. I'll email you privately his phone numbers.

Looks like the rebuild's going ahead, full steam. Wish you luck!

I was browsing E-bay thismorning and while searching under "G body", I found a guy selling a rust-free and repainted frame for $150........I remembered seeing this thread and thought I'd pass the info along. (if it turns out your "donor frame" hasany issues.)

Thanks for the heads up there SrBenelli. I'm pretty sure the frame I will be getting is mostly rust free.

Brian Weaver over at gbodyparts.com is really doing all he can to help me out.

I just posted some pics of the new shell I am going to be getting from Brian. Check out: http://buick.r00td0wn.net for the pics.

Also I'm going to be keeping track of how much everything is costing me as I rebuild the beast. Any free parts I get from anyone will be marked FREEBIE! on the list along with appropriate credits, free plugs for the person of business along with free ads! :D

Just out of curiosity, how is it going with the Insurance Company. I am sure they totaled it, but were they fair about the price? How much to buy it back?

I saw the pics.....body looks pretty straight. Never would've thought the best way to install t-tops was to total my car though! ;) :p

As I said above......I was just browsing around the web and spotted the frame......thought "who do I know that can use that???" LOL

Again, good luck!

Steve

A cop eh? That's not a bad idea! ;)

Just out of curiosity, I was going to post this in a new thread but ah what the hey.

I see on Kirban's site he wants like $239 for all the body bushings. When I go to PST's site I see they have the Polygraphite bushing kit for $150?!?!

Is Kirban on crack or does the PST kit not have all the bushings??

I believe the PST kit is complete.

You gotta remember.......anything sold by a "specialty" company as a "Buick GN" part is gonna be sold at a premium....for no other reason that it fits a "GN".

What? It'll fit a GNX also??? Add another $200 to it!

LOL

Just get some hockey pucks and drill 'em out! :)

I like the progress website. We can all see how to build a GN in a week. I'm sure this site will be full of all the beer guzzlers you invite over to do the operation. :)

Been there, done that! Got the stained t-shirt to prove it!
Take my advice.....keep the "beer guzzling firends" to a minimum.....
.........they have a habit of breaking stuff, forgetting to install other stuff and flat out loosingsmall stuff all together!

.........always wondered how my tranny mount bolts ended up in that old pizza box out in the garage..... :o

I said beer guzzling friends... not drunk friends that can't handle their beer. :)

I agree, a bunch of drunks wouldn't be a good idea. You're trusting a lot of people to install A LOT of stuff right. But having some beers, other cold beverages as well as pizza, sandwiches and other tasty treats does show you appreciate people coming out and working for free.

If anything, you can just drink the beers after you're gazing a masterpiece well done!

The beer payment plan.. excepted anywhere you wanna be!

Hey don't laugh, I did that years ago when I mounted a new core support on my old conv. GS. It worked well by the way.

Not laughing at all.. I know of a few Grand Nationals running around with hockey puck body bushings. Never heard a complaint about it. I've got a whole pile in the garage and a drill press. :) Might go into business.
