So, sad to say, but this won't be a "meanchicken" style story. Kind of felt embarrassed, but also I probably just suck at driving. So going on Route 3 but 2 other buddies, all in separate cars. I was driving my GN and got smoked by a late 90's camaro. All's it has done to it is different intake manifold, exhaust (just a cutout at the y-pipe) and a stock tune. I have whats in my signature so 60lbers, 60-1 billet turbo from bison, 2800 lockup, exhaust, chip for 92 (running 93) for 17-18 psi. Here it goes.....

We were doing about 50-55mph, buddy's friend in the camaro was in the middle lane then went to the left and we timed it perfectly because he just wanted to see what my girl had in her. As I gunned the pedal, in the left lane, my senses were tingling as to hear what the 'maro had under its hood. As soon as he downshifted, my ears a rumbling roar. I may have only hit about 13-15 psi out of a possible 17 that my chip is tuned for. Until he shifted into 4th I kept up, but once he got into fourth, he started walking on me. We may have hit 90mph.

After I caught up to him, he smiled and so did I. I may have lost but it was all in good fun. He even said the car is nice and it has almost unlimited potential.

Meanchicker, can you give me some pointers?! :(
 
Put some race gas in that thing and turn up the boost! If you were running at 25psi of boost, he wouldn't have walked away, he would have been checking out your tail lights! :cool:

Oh well I got killed from a dig by a solstice GXP today that was all stock... Dang cars are quick..

Ok It was a friend and I rolled up beside him he left I didn't due to my power tour passenger screaming I better not race him . Still I think he might have beat me since I spin bad from a stop and that car jumped off the line barking tires on the shift etc...

The good is from a roll @ 50 moh s hung with or pulled on a G8 GXP and fire hawk ... So maybe it's not a turd.

Power tour is fun lots of cool cars !

Saw one of those supercharged caddies put down 700 HP in the dyno today Man that car sounded wicked.
 
Running a 60 turbo at 17 is not even near it's power potential.
 
you should have beaten him. if he pulled you on the big end,your car is laying down and losing power. you need to log some runs and see where your tune is
 
You aint going nowhere if you dont crank it up. It's only a 6. Got give that *itch some air. Wake her up a bit, think of it as running 10-15 psi like having some ol regular missionary virgin sex. Once you turn up the boost past 25 psi you finally pulled her hair a bit and slapped her in the butt. Kinda gets your testoserone up. Gotta be careful though, she might be feisty and kick you off for getting to wild. You'll be alright with some E85 or Alcohol. Alcohol always seems to be the trick to get them a little wilder than usual. lol.. i kinda pushed the metaphor on this didn't i

Gen 3 sbc's anit no joke. Drove plenty of em. "Never owned one" They wake up big time with the right mods. Big time, and you gotta respect GM's engine program. I do miss Pontiac also, almost everything they made right at the end was fast and available in black!!!

I need someone locally to check out my car and tell me what minor things I need to do to make the car that much more in sync. Like is my boost creeping or not because this I my first turbo car and what a good one it is. But she need some fine tuning. My tune off this TT chip is fat. I haven't touched anything fuel wise since I got it. I got a wideband ready to put in the car but gotta fix the exhaust leaks here an therez

Biggest improvement i have ever felt was when i went E85 to powerlogger with the wideband control. I run SD chip now and i have also used 6.1 chip as well with a translator. Both good, just felt the SD had a bunch more perks. The E85 just lets you throw boost at the engine. If you have availability in your area you should really look into it. I have ran 11.2 11.3 with a Bone stock motor with only bolt ons, bigger turbo (same one you got) downpipe injectors electronics mentioned above and seat time to launch properly. But you have to give it boost. You really shouldnt be losing to any 3rd gen sbc unless it has some decent work and some juice.

With the 255lph pump I got, what else do I need to run e85? Won't be upgrading lines for a while.

Correction, just looked up what I need. Back half from the fuel filter and onwards, lines gotta go. Rusty as can be. The front half undercarriage is all chassis lubed so no worries of rust. Back end is a different story. Gonna go full line replacement an an fitting hanger. But no dough now for that.

If it was truly stock at 17PSI with a 60 it should have been closer than that.
