Thanks for the heads up! I just threw my 10 yr old clay bar in the trash!
In the FWIW dept....
I have been washing microfiber rags and tossing them in with other clothes.
My bud noticed it didn't pick up detailing spray, smelled it, and commented that use of dryer sheets ruins the rag.
He's right! I've now began air drying them. That works.
However, after finding a chip of metal in a used one after wash/drying it, I've decided to use only new rags. I get them in a bundle from Horrible Frt. for not a lot of $$.
Considering the problems completing my 55 bucket list car, I can't take on paint repairs, too!:(
Back under my 55. I'm too old for this :poop::ROFLMAO:

Dave34, did you ever find a fix for your paint? I've never heard of clay doing damage. I know there are different types of clay like soft, medium, and firm (or something like that - maybe it's fine, med, coarse?). What brand did you use so we can all avoid it?
No. I talked to a a paint correction expert and did 50 hours of paint correction. The paint expert was unsure. I'm thinking it's a paint defect on the base coat that became " noticed " after the claybar unfortunately for me
