I was doing some tuning with the scanmaster yesterday  and was pulled over by a state trooper. I told the officer what i was doing and she kinda looked at me funny, maybe thought I was just making things up. Well she was in her car for like 5 min, so I was wondering if I was going to jail or just getting wreckless driving. Neither would be good, but the ticket would be better, I guess. Well she came back to the car asking me a few questions, and in the end she told me to SLOW DOWN     . HOLY CRAP I though, slow down I was doing 30+ over on the highway, and she told me to slow down. Ill tell you what I thanked the good lord when she said that one. I guess a clean record does wonders for you. Kinda strange, got a clean record but have been pulled over probably more than 12 times and issued at least 6 tickets, but all were dropped to fines. I think I was the luckiest man in the world yesterday!!!

Drive safe everyone ;) :D

Yep, gotta watch out for the Smoky's if your gonna mess around. It sounds like you got lucky this time. It seems like I always get pulled over when I'm not paying attention to how fast I'm going.

I think I would have went and bought some lottery tickets after an experience like that!

You must have a long tounge.Boy are you lucky, most states would lft license on that one.Go get some lottery tickets for sure.

There is a nice backroad the next block over from my house that I always tune on. One day I was WOT for a bit and next thing you know, county cop pops over a slight hill coming at me. I know if his radar is on he has me by now, so I don't bother jamming on the brakes, I just let off the gas and coast. As he passes by me, I look over and he is giving me a thumbs up.

I've been in the front seat of a State Trooper F150 because I was showing a friend that my converter was not enough to spool the turbo...only slowly spin the back tires. He told me that he coulda thrown me in jail since that was considered racing :(
My dad one time took the 66 GTO for a spin when he lived in Dallas one 4 am. After the smoke cleared from a nice smokey burn out, there were several cops around him! They just STS for a while and he got off just fine.

Rule of thumb when u get stopped.

Always keep ur hands on the steering wheel, I dont like it when I cant see the drivers hands(Officer Safety issue), also dont run ur mouth, just be respectful and dont ask why u were stopped---U know exactly what U were doin. and Finally and most importantly if ur with the wife or girlfriend, tell them to shut the *uck up before the Officer gets to ur window. More tickets have been issued because of their mouths more than any other reason.

Hands are always on the wheel. To many crazy people ot there anymore. If on the phone hang up, passanger on the phone tell em to sht up NOW. Always yes sir(mam) no sir(mam) I have found that flat out respect, honesty, and admiting you did wrong works good. Dont BSem cause they know who you are after a couple minuits of talking to you. :)

Only get a ticket 50% of the time!! You're the luckiest man ever! hehe
I think I can count on one hand how many times I've been let off...have no idea how many times I've been stopped..lost count at around 70 something times years ago..and yes I have a clean record too, always took to court, lawyer, or probabtion. And, I've always followed the rules mentioned above.

Rob I still want that 10th T/A :D

Brer Rabbit hit it on the head. Attitude gets a lot of people into tickets they may not otherwise have gotten. Most (not all) cops don't enjoy handing out tickets, but it is part of the job. Think about all the a-hole things you see people do everyday...wouldn't it be nice to be able to give those people tickets? With that said, most people don't mean to do harm with they break traffic laws.

Being polite (at least as polite as the officer) and admitting your wrong doing goes a long way with most officers. Officers get sick of hearing how everyone has no idea what they were doing wrong! Officers get lied to all-day long every work-day.....having someone be honest is a nice change in pace and it is often rewarded with discretion.

Yeah, got pulled over a few weeks back on a saturday night doing 30 mph.......... brand new motor and tranny, breaking them in .......... expired inspection tab (in the front lower DS of the window in Texas) ........... Ol' EAGLE eye saw it from behind ...... actually, I think he wanted to check out the car, which is GREAT as many of these get stolen. I kindly explained I was putting the first 12 miles on it after 15 months of HARD work ..... had insurance papers in the car, so, he told me to take care of the inspection ......... parked the car and on Monday she passed with flying colors.

She may not have written you because she didn't get you on radar. While she could lie and say she did and you wouldn't know the difference, it's immoral. Oh well, don't look the gift horse in the mouth, right? :)

And why in the world, if you're doing 100 mph and the trooper is stopped on the side of the road, did you STOP? Get off at the next exit and disappear! It'll be two miles before they even match your speed, nevertheless catch up to you.

Why would an officer need to lie about someone speeding 100+mph? The easy way around that would be to simply charge them with Reckless Driving. It is easy to prove without knowing actual speed, and it is the biggest ticket you can get (at least in VA....max. $2500 fine and max. 12 months in jail).

from the officer's standpoint, if you told them you clocked them going 85 do you think they are going to say, uh I was doing 110. :D

I agree. When I was pulled over a couple of weeks ago it was night, so I turned on the interior lights and kept my hands on the wheel. The trooper made it seem as if he was more concerned with my safety than anything else. He said the roads were a bit wet and the temp was down to 20*. Told me to take it easy and make it home alive - no ticket. We could use more law enforcment offices like that.
