O.K. I bought a new turbo from a guy around here about 8 months ago. I have been waiting to get a THDP before installing it. He told me it's a TE-60, it looks like it could be one (it's much larger than stock anyways). SO, the problem is when I got my 3'' Downpipe I went to attatch it to the turbo(still off the car, I just wanted to see how bad a$$ it looked!) WELL, the problem was the exhaust housing is obviously not made for turbo regals! THE BOLT HOLES DON'T LINE UP AT ALL!!! Some are off as much as 1 inch. SO the main question here is, will I need to get a whole new turbo? OR, Is there some vendor out there who can sell me an exhaust housing that will fit?

If I have to buy a new turbo, can you all voice some suggestions. my first impression of the "TE-60" is that it may be a little to big.
This car is my DAILY DRIVER and all I want(for now) is a mid/low 12 sec. car. I don't want to put any higher stall than 2800-3000 in. So I was thinking maybe a PT-52 or so? heard a lot about TE-44's and such but I don't want to have to push the turbo's limits. I would like to get one that will put me there without running the turbo too hard. What turbos will do this?

Car has stock heads-(may become ported sometime later)
will have 2800-3000 stall with new turbo
usual bolt-ons and scanmaster

Thanks,

The TE-60 should work fine with a 3K stall converter from what I've read over the years. Get a good chip to go with it with quick spool code in it, can't hurt. :)

Need to see pics. of the turbo and housing to see what you really have however but many are able to be swapped out for a conventional housing.

Do that thing have a water cooled center section on it? Or those the oil in/out drains?

That like some genetric turbo. Who is made this turbo?

Yes, it does have a water cooled center. one of the reasons why I bought it.

On the exhaust housing it says "Airesearch" so I guess that's who made it. look at the first pic on the second row.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks,

Evan Ward

I would suggest that you call Precision or Limit and tell them what you have and see what they can do. I know PTE sells exh. housings seperately. The only thing is knowing positivly of what turbo it is so you get the correct housing i.e exh. wheel size and that sort of thing. Good Luck!

garrett gt center section? That looks like a turbo someone would put on a rotated mount, subaru. Find the guy you bought it from, and hit him with the turbo right in the face!
