The battery is in the trunk. DS has never shown a voltage drop.
I also have a solid rod that goes from the back of the left head down to the frame so I know the motor does not move around.

keep firing suggestions at me fellas

you can view a short video of this car at.......http://www.meacham.pointclark.net/scottsbuick/videos.htm click on BigD10.68 pass

It's was poppin and spittin on that pass wasn't Dwayne?

I've tried numerous chips, same ole sh*t. My dad has a set of 72# injs with a chip to go with it along with his ecm. I've tried this before, but what the hell, I'll try it again

I'm just an amateur here, but I didn't see anything about MAF. Perhaps it trips under significant fluctuations.

Well he said he changed "all sensors", so I'm assuming maf was included. This is a very interesting situation, I am anxious to hear the root of the problem as is BigDaddy I'm sure.

I'm taking the car to John Spears this morning so he can probe the wiring harness and see if he finds anything unusual. I'll check back in when I get home to let you know what I find out. BTW..........check out his website, he does alot of efi conversions, also check out the video he has of the company car............................www.speartech.com

Are you using stock type MAF's? If you are, with a car that fast, you are almost certainly experiencing MAF-dropout. Can you make a DS run available for people to look at?

Regards,
Eric

I would like to, but I don't know how. If someone could point me to a thread or tell me step by step what to do, I would send it to anybody to look at.

Turn on the laptop and get Directscan going.
Get a floppy disk and put it in.
Load up an old run that you want to save on the floppy by using File Menu, Load buffer.
Go to File Menu, Save Buffer.
Hit TAB about 3 times and the highlighted box will move down to select the drive. Hit the UP arrow to move to "A" drive (instead of "C").
When "A" is highlighted, hit TAB again to go back up to the filename.
Name the file, enter whatever comment, hit enter and it should now be saved on the floppy.

If you want to email the file, add it as an attachment.
Let us know if you need help!

Regards,
Eric

I just posted a similar thread, my car is pretty much stock, and after setting the tps, putting new plugs in, synthetic oil, regulator....the thing cuts off when I let off the gas. Idles ok, throws a code 44 every once in a while. Maybe we have the same problem.

Oh, also curious if its converter related, because I just replaced the fuse which was throwing a code. Can't remember it cutting out much before doing that.

Cam sensor....

Just my .02 worth....

I know you've changed alot of pieces, but I didn't see anywhere where you changed the cam sensor, or verified that it's not 180 degrees off.

I had one of my GN's experience a very similar problem, and it turned out to need a new cam sensor. After the switch, the car ran great, because all of the other sensor and switches were also new! :)

Good luck!

Tim

.......update

Yeah......I need some help

Eric Stage 1; when I hit tab and get the drives highlited, the up and down arrows will not move to the a drive. I get a Abort, retry, fail message

Update......If I'm going down the road say 20 mph, and gradually ease up to 40 mph, then let off the throttle, everything is fine. But if I'm going down the road at 20 mph and aggresively go to 50mph(but not under boost) and then take my foot off the throttle, the rpms' will drop to 500 and try to die. For the first time yesterday I realized that the DS showed the LV8 would go to 85 or so then drop to about 60 when I lifted, but under a load, but not under boost, the LV8 would drop to 25 or 30. This is when the car tries to die. Any help?

Nasty6: Yes, we verified that the cam sensor is not out 180. We have also tried numerous cam sensors, still no luck.
