can someone please tell me step by step how to replace the gov. spring. also i need a spring, where can i get one? at the time my gn is the only car that drives, and all the shops want to keep the car a day or so. i cant go a day without my car, i need it to go to work.plus i dont want them to put the wrong spring in it.by the way its a 87' trans. thanks in advance

We now have BRF governor springs.

Let me know your mailing address and I'll get one out to you.

Installing it is a matter of removing your pan and the governor cover. The governor cover is the rearmost aluminum housing inside the pan, held on by four 13mm bolts.

Bruce has a neat way of retaining the spring with a set screw if you are having trouble keeping it in place.

meanbuicks,i e-mailed you my info, and this is the first problem ive had with the spring. hope its the last. thanks alot;)

How much for the governor spring? I would like one too.
