I love that car!!! Thats the first time I have ever seen good pictures of the car. A few small ones floating around but these are great... wow that is sharp!!!

I have seen the car myself in person. Pretty decent, not perfect but certainly very clean with typical little things like it shows a small tear in the bumper filler. It looks better with the top down IMO rather than top up. So to anyone looking at it I will give it a 7.5 out of 10.

Looks weird to me. I would venture to guess that the paint scuffed off the door edge in the picture was caused by excessive chassis flex.

A case of....just because you can, doesn't mean you should.

I don't like convertibles, and this gives me one more reason not to like them :o. To each his own

I’m not a fan of convertibles but I think this was a nice conversion. I would buy it for my wife or my daughter if i had the cash.

Anybody remember who did that conversion and what it cost to have done? Just wondering.

I'm with Brad it looks better with the top down then up that's for sure. I first saw this car I guess about 4 or 5 years ago in Bowling Green when he was selling it there. My first spotting was in the hotel parking lot. It was about 9pm at night and I looked out the hotel window and thought... hmmm that almost looks like a convertible on that grand national out there. I though it was from what I was drinking making me see things! :D So I walked outside and checked it out. Sure nuff was a GN convertible. It was fun asking people if they had spotted the GN convertible that weekend because no one believed me!

My late Dad had a '69 GS Stage I convertible, new, so if this GN did come out as a convertible, I'm sure as hell he would have ordered one....he LOVED convertible tops and so do I......I like it....looks really slick. Too bad GM didn't ever have one, it would have been really cool.

Ask me if that '69 GS Stage I was fast....:D

I may be in the minority, but I think that looks horrible. It reminds me of a vintage Chrysler Lebaron. Some cars were never meant to be convertibles and the Regal is one of them.

Yes some cars were never meant to have a ragtop. As much as I like my 87 Charger that I'm repainting with the 81-83 Charger 2.2 paint scheme there have been a couple done on these cars. It looks horrible. A place in California has been trying to sell this for at least a couple years. ///// 1982 Rare Convertible Dodge Charger 2.2 ///// It would have looked better had they used a top from a similar year Cavalier convertible and flattened out the hatch into a trunk lid. Trying to make the top keep the roofline that it did as a hatchback looks hideous, and I really love those cars.

I liked the 80's Chargers back in the day. Back in the very late 80's, a high school friend picked up a Dodge Omni GLH Turbo. (Carroll Shelby says GLH stood for Goes Like Hell) That was such a cool sleeper car. After some modification, it was regularly eating up all of the cars in the high school lot. My Chevette was no match. haha Good luck with your Charger build.
