Grand National Project #1

With some of the cars I've seen here, I have a LONG LONG LONG way to go to compete with some of these guys. I'm just cutting my teeth here. I feel like an idiot sometimes here with the knowledge base and some of the ridiculously sweet cars I see. The engine bay thread had my jaw on the floor. I'm just trying to contribute in some small way to this community, and unfortunately the only way I can do that is to spend money, take pictures, and post updates.

Well for goodness sakes just keep us posted:biggrin:

I'm trying my best. haha. I will take complete pictures of everything when it's done. Hopefully it turns out as well as I think it will. I have Dana from Virtual Works doing all the work, and anyone from the Supra community will know him. His overall skills are outstanding.

I wonder how it is even possible to improve on that Supra. I have been viewing Supras on countless forums and websites for the last decade. It's funny that the nicest Supra I have ever seen was viewed on a Buick forum. Go figure.

I hear that a LOT actually. I try to keep everything tasteful. The only way to really improve on the car, in my opinion, would be to go to the 3.4 stroker with the bullet proof crank. That's my next step but the shortblock, with no cores is $15,900. I'd like to have a buyer lined up for my current shortblock FIRST.

Blackouts

Where did you get the black outs how much can u get me the back done for. Thanks
Charles

Vegas, check into a metco driveshaft loop instead of the poston one. If the poston one you are looking at is trapezoidal, it probably wont fit well (I know from experience). Apparently metco is the way to go from what I have gathered. I made the poston one work, but it consisted of jacking the car up on the ds loop and heating it with a propane torch for about an hour. Just a fyi

I appreciate the feedback. When Dana puts it on the lift, hopefully he can make the minor adjustments needed.

Updated mod list. I swear I'm leaving it alone.....for at least another month. :D Pics coming next week.

Are those the center line auto drags? I've always liked those and haven't seen them in a long time. Looks sharp. What is the % on the tint? The windows look like they're practically black.

Yes, old school Centerline Auto Drags. The car in that pic is raised up a little by the lift. Sitting down they look awesome on the car, at least in my opinion. I'm surprised more people don't run them on GN's. As for the tint, it's 20%. You can actually see into the car outside in the Vegas sun at that tint.

Here are the canisters, polished up, that will be going on. Many more pics coming on Wed when everything is done. :D

Okay, newest group of mods, which includes the full coil over front and rear suspension, 3.5 inch custom stainless single exhaust with downpipe, upper and lower rear control arms, rear sway bar, front mount IC, BOV, TB + Plenum some custom piping, etc.....the next step is to install the FAST XFI system on Sunday, finish up the cosmetics under the car, remove all the brackets, etc.....under the hood from chroming, and who knows after that.
