Darryl was a good friend & I'm in a state of shock right now.I had no idea he was that despondent. At least he never gave me that indication.
This really sucks. I'm at a loss for words.

This is terrible news. :( I too am having a tough time finding the right words. I can only imagine the kind of pain his wife and family are suffering right now.

I thought a lot about this situation last night. It's so hard to imagine someone so young, here one day and gone the next.

Darryl was one of those people with the sort of charisma and personality that you just couldn't help but like. His talents as a mechanic and turbo Buick specialist were well known here in the area. He will be missed. :(

My prayers goes out to his family.

It's very disturbing when I hear things like this, very sad:(

Darryl Davis, rest in peace:

For reasons known only to himself and God, Darryl Davis of D. davis Engineering, Santa Ana, Ca., and formerly of Boulevard Buick, 2850 Cherry Ave., Long Beach, Ca., 90755, took his life either this last Friday or this last Monday night. Darryl Davis was one of the most skilled and competent Buick mechanics in general, and turbo Buicks specifically, that I have ever met. He had just started his own business and was specializing in tri 5 ('55-'57) custom Chevrolets. Darryl was about 40. Darryl has serviced, repaired, and worked on my cars (mostly turbo Buicks) for about the last 10 years. He was a good friend and I am still in shock as I write this.
Darryl: I don't think that you realized how many friends that you had and to what extent we would have gone to protect you from whatever demons that were troubling you. God speed and may your soul rest in peace from whatever demons you could not escape from in life.
My prayers and sympathy go out to your family and all of your friends everywhere.

For those of you that had the opportunity to know Daryl Davis:

Lou, I, your friends, & customers know that you are gone, Daryl, but you will never be forgotten. I hope that you found the peace & serenity that you couldn't find elsewhere. God Bless & God Speed.

Amen to that Gary,I try not to think about that, what a tragic waste of a great person. Suicide is permanent, Problems come & go, This is why it's so important to have friends to turn to in times of distress, What more is to say.

Lou:
I also still miss him & think of him often, especially about this time of year.

Hey whos that guy that made this post, i dont recognize the name ;) , Rip Darryl Davis was a good man, He just had some bad times and couldnt handle the pressure and took the easy way out, he will always be with us no matter what, just remember that if you ever have thoughts of self harm, Friends are always a phone call away to help you out regardless of what your perils maybe, just pick it up and reach out..

I didn't know him but hate hearing about this kind of thing.

Once I talk them down....I refer depressed friends to one of my favorite Queen songs.

Don't Try Suicide

Prayers for his family and for his soul.
