Grinding noise comeing from trans

I was just cruiseing around 40-45, and the trans made a poping noise, and now doesnt work? Little bit of fluid drupping out, im thinking maybe the torque converter balooned? but im not sure what to look for, all i know is its hotter then hell right now... When you restart the car it sounds as if something is either grinding or scraping somewhere, if the converter balooned up could it have put a hole in the engine?

Let me guess, the trans needs to be rebuilt, and a new torque converter
