ground wire

Where is the stock mounting location for the ground wire? My car does not have the heat shield and bracket installed. The ground wire is attached to one of the mounting holes. Going to put the bracket back on and need to put it somewhere else. Could not see another good mounting point with the length of the current wire.

Any clean point on the block should work as long as any engine movement will not stress the ground cable. The stock point on both of my '87 GNs is the lower bolt on the turbo mounting bracket.

Using the lower bolt on the turbo bracket has always been a PITA for me. Seems my fingers weren't made for that! I run my negative cable to the right side long water pump bolt since it runs through the timing cover and into the block.
