What would cause growl to come from the back of the transmission(2004r)??
Still drives fine, all gears are there, just "growling". Like a bearing is gone maybe??

Hrmmm

Maybe bad Ujoint or mount allowing driveshaft to bind. Also, ck the rear end pinion bearings. Then ck yolk and bushing in trans.

Just a thought..........

I put it on jack stands because i was thinking it may have been a u-joint or the rearend, but it's deffinetly in the back end of the transmission. Just spinning the wheels by hand, I can hear it in the back of the transmission.

Low planet

Or ring gear issue. Sounds like it to me anyway. the ONLY way you are going to KNOW is to pull trans and take apart. Try dropping pan first and see what is in it.

It's deffinetly in the transmission. Going to pull it out tomorrow if I get the time to.

Took out a thrust washer and the rear planetary gear set started to get scored up.
