I am SOOOOO ****ing pissed right now    . First off, I get to go up to work this morning, and the GN won't start, so I end up borrowing mom's old minvan to get to work. Then, when I get home, I notice a HUGE dent in the passenger side rear-wheel arch of my GN. The last time i can distinctly reemmber seeing the pass. side of the car was saturday, so I know it happened since then, but I have no idea when. It was a white car that did it (so none of the other cars at my house here). But coincidentally enough, we use white delivery trucks at work, and there is always one of them parked on that side of the car when I'm at work... and most of our drivers are old retirees with questionable driving skills (one had his 4th accident in 2 weeks yesterday, they've all been in his personal car, and he swears they were all hit and runs, not his fault at all  ). It's right in the spot, and direction that it would be if a car parked next to you was backing out, and cut it too sharp and clipped your car with the front of theirs. Even if it wasn't one of the idiots I work with, how ****ing hard is it to leave a note if you did it??!?!! I have dinged peoples cars before, and though I hate it, I always leave a note with my contact info, cuz even though I hate to pay for it, I can;t stand the thought of making someone else pay a few hundred bucks for my mistake. I guess people these days have no concept of personal responibility. GRRRRR!!!! it's sad how quickly something like this can ruin my entire day!!!

Sorry, I had to vent, and I knew this was the one place people would understand how crazy this $hit makes me.

man i feel for you,no worse than a person that hits a car and drives off to leave you to wonder what happend,at least leave a note stating ,i hit you here, sorry but im taking off and your on your own...at least you wont hate everyone you see with a white car.i havnt drove my car in like a month and last week took it out and washed it and went to a friends shop,on the way their it starts to rain out of no-where then i stop at a light and while sitting their a one legged lady bumps my car in a bmw?..now thats some crazy shibitz,i get out to look at my custom shaved bumper with hours of labor in and luckily nothing at all,i walk up to her and told her she needs to watch what the hell your doing and explain how much the car is worth and she points to her missing leg and says her foot slipped and she was sorry??im just glad no problems, needless to say the car again has sat and today i pulled it out and washed it and drove it to my shop and what happens????well you know......it starts to rain...sometimes i hate florida, along with the old people doing the florida shuffle and the crazy weather  ...sorry to hear about your car, just look over all the trucks real good at your work....thanks for letting me vent too on your thread...it does help... ;)

Yeah, since we transport radioactive materials at work, we have to keep verrrry detailed records, so if i find a truck with black paint on the front corner, it will be very easy to find out who was driving it the past two days. I'll even be nice enough to come to them in person about it and give em a chance to pay up without involving the company. I'm thinking they'll be willing to, since its a violation of Federal laws for them to have any accident, no matter how minor, and not go through a whole long inspection process (again, we are trnsporting radioactive materials, so the Nuclear Regulatory people and the DOT are a wee bit picky about that). As far as driving in florida goes, I can sympathize with that. I'm a 3rd gerenration Floridian, a Reel Native as we say (my grandparents were born here) and it kills me to see all the snowbird tourists and retirees down here mucking up my roads. I'm still amazed that when it starts to rain, like it does EVERY DAMN DAY at 3' o clock, traffic comes to a halting stop on all the roads.... how can you spend more than 6 months in Florida and not get used to driving in the rain?? Or the classic, the grandma with Indiana, or Massachussets plates doing 35 on I-75 in the fast lane with her blinker on, oblivious to the chaos she is causing.... when I win the lottery I'm moving to the Ten Thousand Islands, down in the SW corner of the state, where it'll just me be and the gators, and the skeeters and the nutria and the Everglades, catching snook as big as my leg and tarpon bigger than me...... ahhhhh, noe that thought finally brings peace to my troubled mind

I know the feeling...

I feel your pain also. My 7 day old paint job was hit by someone in a WHITE trailer in BG. Faxed the guy the estimate and now no response. I don't know what gets into people.

I was on the way home from picking the car up from getting paint.

Driving down the road, going 45mph a guy who was 97 years old comes barrelling out of a lot to my right and tries to cross lanes. It was raining out and I had all of 10 feet to hit the brakes and I just t boned him.

He ended up being ok from the crash and had the balls to say to me "It looked like a nice car too"

Of course it was totalled out, but I kept it and fixed it back good as new.

Well I aint a native but IMO the real problem are the idiots who weren't born in this country! I'm not being racists or a bigot but there should be a law that says if you cant be elected President than you cant have a DL. How the F! can you go from driving a donkey to driving on I-95(I-4 in my part) is beyond me. Old people in my part usually have enough common sense to not be on the road during morning and afternoon rush hour too. I sit behind a desk so it doesn't bother me that much. I'm never in a hurry to go anywhere either which also keeps me out of the road rage mode most of the time. The wifes Dr. told me he wont even give his older patients an appointment for those hours just to keep them off the roads. I think there should be some type of protocol that older drivers need to adhere to. It sure would be easier on everybody. BTW I ride a MC so I dont have to deal with this BS. I'm the guy zig zagging through traffic and passing on the shoulders. I had an old geezer back into one of my Rivieras too. Drove away like nothing happened. The sheriff called him and told him to file an accident report and give it to his ins. agent with instructions that the agent handle everything for him. I felt bad that he was treated like child and berated like that. This was in a small town so I doubt that would work in a large populated area.I got a check on the spot.

i agree with the donkey comment ;) ,but let me tell you from alot of motorcycle experiance.....you,exspecially you, have to worry about the drivers here while your on that motorcyle...if that was what you were saying?I have been riding for 20 years here in florida and have wrecked 3 times and avoided 3 a week if i was lucky, you can drive defensive all you want, but i had a 90 year old man t-bone me and we made eye contact,i slowed down, because i saw the blinker,he stopped and as i came up he jetted out and stopped?his excuse was,i stopped why didnt you?i did...when i hit him,and i would not of if he kept going...2 years ago i was pumping gas and saw a guy be-legged while sitting on his motorcyle waiting to turn right, the guy went into his lane as he crossed the intersection...i cant tell you how mant times i went up on curbs or put dents in peoples doors with my foot as they tried to come into my lane as im driving...if you seen all the accidents i avoided you might think i was a stunt driver...i was hit in the rear sitting at a light?i saw him coming up then immediately switching to my lane?,couldnt move up,so i bailed...i cant tell you how many people i personaly "knew" or know that were in bike wrecks...i dont care how defensive you are,you better be on your toes because you,on a bike, are in the most danger...and i also used to be the one driving between the cars in the center on 1 wheel  ..i was all jigster, too many tickets, when i stopped..then went vmax and magna, too slow..inbetween now,but thats why harleys are soooo noisy so the old farts can hear you and wont come into you...but id NEVER own one of those...

So true. I've been riding for almost 30 years. The wife calls me the invisable man when we are out riding. The closest call we ever had was when an old geezer went from the left lane over to the right lane where we were in. I was riding right along side his fender so all he had to do is turn his head a little and he would have seen us. I swear his bumper nicked the rear tire with his little stunt. The dumbchit was either to scared to stop or to embarassed to acknowledge his stupidity. The guy with a truck that was right behind us tried to pull him over too as he cut him off in the process. I just told him with our luck he would call the cops and say we were the road ragers. I've found that nobody wins in those arguements. And I dont think the people down at the DMV are doing there jobs in keeping some of these people off the streets either. I've seen some scary things there, especially when these people are doing the eye test. Damn government workers. Turn that agency over to a private company and hold someone liable for their actions and I'd bet you would see an improvement, not to mention a lot of pissed off old people. You know someday that day is going to come for us too. Until than I'm going to keep on working on ways to keep my body up to specs so I can enjoy driving the GN for a little longer.

I havent had a motorcycle in years, been meaning to get one again, but $hit like this keeps popping up with the buick and draining my "automotive fun savings account". My buddy Scott, has like 2 dozen motorcycles of various vintage and brand, and has an ingenious solution to idiots on the road. In one of his saddle bags on his daily-rider, he keeps about a half dozen eggs at all times... some of them ahve been in that saddle bag for weeks in the hot sun... anytime someone cuts him off, almsot clips him, etc. he nails their car with one of the stink-eggs.. gets rid of his road-rage feeling, and doesnt do any REAL harm to the other people... teaches them a lil lesson about proper driving too. Or one time, when he was givin me a ride home from the bar (yes, i was riding bitch... better than a DUI), some idiot cut us off, and we damn near spilled out on the road to avoid hitting the car. So Scott proceeds to follow him for 35 minutes, when the guy gets home, scott, waits till he gets out, tehn as the dude is walking up to his door, scott nails it right towards the dude, stopping inches before running him over... "dont like it much when a big automobile damn near runs you over and youre pretty much defenseless to stop it, huh???? Kepp that in mind, a$$hole!!!" then he rides off
