Well we finished the car up Sunday night(well not really) and left early monday morning for BG. We attempted to run the boost at a low level (16#) and iron out the chassis a bit. We were plagued with ignition problems, after a bad crank trigger we switched over to the pick up in the MSD distributor. While things were looking better, the Racepack and the FAST logger still shows major interference from somewhere. The car pops and misses terribly once it is past the 1/8 mile.
We also found the recall on the tach read 7500 shift points as well as the Racepack however the FAST only read 5800. Luckily Harry H. had a new box and o2 in his trailer and that problem was solved, the car immediatly responded with an 8.18 but only 162 mph once again quitting almost immediately after shifting into 4th gear (never getting into 5th).We are very enthused as this was the first outing and the car leaves and drives straightas an arrow. I expect to have the bugs worked out within a week or two (I need a break!). I'd like to thank everyone who helped me out this week especiallymy Dad, Harry from PTE, Winsett and Jay, Alan Witter and Jeff B. I gained alot more ground and knowledge in 4 days than I could have ever expected. It looks like our clutch program is coming along real well and I will keep everyone posted with the progress.
Sorry if I didnt have alot of time to talk with all the customers/friends I would have liked to but if you stopped by our pit, you could see we were VERY busy and most of the time deeply into one thing or another.
