One of the goals of the GSCA National event is to provide a "place" welcoming ALL Buick fans and racers to participate and enjoy. In the many years I have been involved in this event, only this year has there been so much greater interest from old and new participants. [Thanks to the internet!]

Nick: Your response to answering questions is appreciated, but I must take exception to the above quote. I am an avid Buick racer. Probably the most traveled "BUICK RACER" the last several years. My resume for attending and participating in Buick races in 2003 were: Norwalk (Ohio), Englishtown (New Jersey), Kearney (Nebraska), Flint (Michigan), Temple Academy (Texas), Atco (New Jersey), Norwalk (Ohio), Cecil County (Maryland), Noble (Oklahoma), Las Vegas (Nevada), Silver Dollar (Georgia), and Morocco (Indiana). The obvious missing event for 2003 was Bowling Green. Myself and many other Buick racers are not permitted to race at Bowling Green. This is a "GSCA MEMBERS ONLY" race. Not being a member of the GSCA was my own decision and as such, I accept the rule that I (A BUICK RACER) am not entitled to race.

Two other points. 1. Many of the above races in 2003 were sponsored by GSCA chapters. None required GSCA membership. None had administrative fees.
2. When I won the 2001 Q16 Turbo and King of the Hill at the GSCA Nationals the payout was $3,000 (Q16) and $250 (KOH). With all the renewed interest for 2004, what is the payout? Strange as it may seem, there are some racers that go to races to win money. With BG being the premier event of the Buick world, the payouts should also reflect that status.

Good luck at BG 2004. Hope the weather is good. Maybe we can continue this discussion at Las Vegas over a cold spirit or two.
