Question:
I really like the GNX style wheel look. I did some research through the forums and I saw the GNX style wheels had a 3.9 backspace. I found this link to a vendor that has GTA style wheels.

http://www.tacreationsusa.com/firebird.htm

I'm looking at the 16 x 8 from the 86-87 GTA the fronts and they have a backspacing of 4.75. Will these work on a 86 GN without having to get creative?

Any input would be appreciated, thx.

GTA fronts will work fine on a GN.

To run GTA rears on the front, you will need spacers or aftermarket 12" brakes.

GTA rears will NOT work on the back of a GN.

Wanna bet!

What size tire are you running? 225/50'S?

If you run 255/50's can you get your pinkie between the tire and the frame?

I will not hesitate putting Spacers in the front, but I would not recommend spacers on the rear, especially if you did not have to.

What size spacers are needed to put rear GTA rims on the front?

Also, what aftermarket brakes will work to get the spacing right?

To run TTA rears on the front of your TR, you'll need at least 1/2" spacer to 9/16" of spacers to clear the tie rod end. Replace your oem studs with 2" studs. Best solution is to run 4 fronts.

Baer or the Junkyard 12" brake conversion will allow you to run Rears on the front with no spacers with 235/55 or 245/50's.

I run 255/50's on the front on fronts on my '86 Pontiac Grand Prix, but I'm switching to Rear's on the front, because I get some fender lip rub in fast corners.
