If you have used a 67 GTQ or HPQ, or a 70 GTQ or HPQ, what do you think of them? Do you think the ball bearing upgrade is needed if you use a 3500-3600 stall? What exhaust housing are you running? .85 or .63? All responses are welcome due to fact that the HPQ is new and most haven't had a chance to get to the track yet. Looking to buy one, but don't want to regret making the wrong purchase.

Well considering my 400 with a 3500 stall give or take and my 70 GTQ .85 still for sale in the parts section im gonna say go BALL BEARING , i got a good deal on a 6776 BB .63 and i love it .

Thanks! I may wait till BG when the price drops a bit. Does the 67 pull anything like the 70?

Heres a real incident.

Theres a board member thats running a ballbearing 70 q trim turbo that I made the mistake of lining up with. I was initially starting to get him even with a lil tire spin, but when we got rolling (around 85-100mph) that big turbo started to pull away from me. Of course with optimal traction I feel I could have held him off at least to the 1320 mark as I should have gotten out at least a car. As u know that was with a convertor that had seen better days. I think the question here should be, how fast has anyone gone on a q-trim bb67, a p-trim 67, and a bb 70 with a similar combo to urs? Definitely get the 6765 ballbearing turbo(revised 6776). I just cant see spending the extra cash on a q trim 67 when it only makes about 30 more hp than a 6765. If u like the idea of a big end charge then get the bigger exhaust housing since the word is that it spools faster now. Pull the trigger already, we talked about this last week!

I think I will be going with the 67. After doing some searches it seems to be that the 67's sweet spot is in the mid 20's as oppposed to the 70 liking to be in the 27-30psi range. Thanks for the responses, Keep them coming thought because Im sure this will be a topic after BG. I just have to get the guts to call Holly now!:)

I had a 70 q-trim and put a 67-q on my brothers car and that felt very close. After that ride I would say unless you are tring to kill the dyno, I would run a 67-q trim.

Thanks! 67 it will be! Did he use the small housing? What was the converter stall?
