Total BS. I hope the dealership makes this right. It would be so easy to just do the right thing. I don't get why they're making is difficult on the guy so far.

Ok, I read through all 57 pages (whew!!). Looks like he is (with the help of GM) getting a new 2013 but having to come up with a little $$$.
The big issue is the dealer wanted to wash there hands of it right off the bat and hoped it would go away. They wouldn't give insurance info to anyone and said they weren't responsible...go after the person who took it, an employee at the time.
When it gained a little attention the general manger messed up by saying the owners were almost as bad as the (person) who took the car and felt like the owners were extorting them. The owner were offered a car with more miles, no documentation and no carfax. The owners did a carfax and found it had been wrecked.
The dealer admitted that he took the car in on trade and "cut some corners" on checking out the car to hurry up.
It's gonna be tough to recover from this one. They should have been more "customer friendly" in the beginning.

They couldn't go after the employee though because the dealership buzzed him in on a Sunday, so he could "get his car charger". Therefore there was no breaking and entering, and it couldn't be considered stolen because he worked there. The Manager showed their mentality when he called the guy ridiculous for not taking the car with more miles, wrong wheels, wrong badges, and a sunroof he didn't want. "But they offered him 4k on top of it", people keep bringing up. The 4k was so he could get the correct wheels and badges put back on, not extra money on top of making it right. I hope this place doesn't make it past this ordeal.

What an idiot that dealership just dug its own grave!! They know the couple doesn't want to pony up for an attorney. So the dealership is trying to get a car with the same value of course that they can get for much less. The insurance company is only going to pay the value they think its worth and the dealership doesn't want to pay any extra out of their own money. Literally said in a local paper that the owner would have to pay extra if they wanted something newer??? What a cheap SOB only in Delaware!! IMO they need to pony up for a 2014 and eat what ever the difference is. 15-20k is not worth loosing their whole business over!

I understand the owners' anger and frustration but if i were him I would involve my insurance company. In cases such as this their lawyers can be pretty persuasive.

This dealers reputation is TRASH. Even though it seems like it's finally being settled, the damage has REALLY been done. The local newspaper did an article on them. Several online automotive enthusiast sites have done articles. They're ratings on google review and yelp are down to one star with hundreds of angry reviewers. And now... a facebook page is pretending to be the dealership and trashing them even more.

Trying to be cheap and slimy may have cost them their dealership or at least some bad sales numbers this year. A lesson in doing things the WRONG way.

Dont get rude...just ask why the Bullshit instead of doing the right thing?

Ask to speak to the Co-Owners; Bob Hansen or Lee Turek about it. NOT NORMA!! She just answers the phone.

Read a post a little earlier today stating a settlement had been reached and the owner would have a new car in two weeks.....

Basically GM and Berger stepped in and offered up a similar 2013 but they still have to pay the difference between the 2012 and 2013. They still shouldn't be paying anything after all of that. The fake dealer Facebook page was pretty funny though.

Man after reading this, I wouldn't want to even buy a can of GM top end cleaner from First State Chevrolet.

This entire thing is amazing and jaw dropping all at the same time. It really does feel like the little guy may have won in this case; even if he does have to pay a bit.

Last thing I read was that he was to be getting the 2013 and be making the same payments. What it doesn't say is whether said payments are going to go on longer.

This could very easily happen anywhere. Any repair shop, paint shop...

I need to bring my GN to a shop to have the upper control arm bushings replaced. I'm scared to death to leave it.

My paint guy I trust, but that's it. He doesn't do upper control arm bushings.
