I was just talking with a true Vietnam veteran yesterday out front...lives a few houses from me....same age as I am.....what an interesting man, and brave...........he served in 1968-1969, 1970-1971. The stories he told me raised the hair on the back of my neck! He had 7 confermed kills of VC. He is one nice guy, but really loves to share the war stories with someone who greatly appreciates his service and wanting to hear about it. (which is me)

He's coming over this week to my garage where I have an original (and it's big) war time Vietnam Army map that was in my late Dad's office when he was over there in '70-'71. Dad put pins in the map all over Vietnam where he was at.....lots of pins.....and my buddy is going to point out all the places he fault at, explaing to me what was really going on.....and I still heard stories of needing permission to fire back... ....Jeez, what a screwed up government we were back then (and still is)

Oh, well, I truly thanked him for his service and he kind of puffed out his chest and said "thanks, that was nice to hear"...........well, it was great to tell him....he deserved it.....all those veterans are my true heroes in this life.
