Hallo,

I have a pair of 200-4R pumps. The stator supports look different. The one on the more recent and rebuilt pump appears slightly darker.

Is there a way for me to test or identify if this is a hardened stator support?

 D

The hardened supports are darker around the splines from the heat treating process.

that is correct .also running a file across the splines will tell you if it is hardened .if it cuts it its not hardened.ive seen black oxide coated stator tubes that were not heat treated.a standard 1 will show signs of wear even with very low miles, and will have a uniform color.
