Took my son & his friends to see this crap.
What do kids see in this stuff?

What happened to the good movies when I was a kid.

I loved those Cheesy Godzilla movies (complete with dubbed talking), Hercules, King kong, mighty joe young , herbie the love bug.

Yeah, that's a bunch a crap. Harry Potter is retarded. I can't believe that EVEN THE KIDS aren't sick of this crap yet. The religious fanatics flipped out when the books were first surfacing because, they claimed, it would be getting their kids hooked on witchcraft.......YOUR KIDS ARE READING, YOU DUMBA$$ES, let it go!!!

I was just talking the other day with a buddy of mine about how we missed the way they used to do it when we were kids.....remember how every cool show was based around a cool device? Knight Rider was all about K.I.T.T.. Air Wolf was about a killer helicopter with massive firepower. The Dukes Of Hazzard was all about the General Lee. You just don't see that anymore. All in all, I pity kids nowadays. Toys used to be made of heavy die cast metal, so if your little brother didn't keep his hands off of your Optimus Prime, you could knock him unconcious with it.......which reminds me, remember when fathers would whoop you good and you knew you deserved it?:D

I've read all the book so far, and must say I'll see the movie to. The are actually quite clever and well written.

Agreed. I've enjoyed all the books immensely :)

There was a satire recently on SNL that portrayed the kids a little more grownup. Hermeines had some newly developed cleavage and Harry was gawking at it. Hahaha.

2 Thumbs up!

I have no desire to read the books but I have seen the movies and love them... The stories are very clevor and detailed which I prefer. I always liked witchcraft, vampires, etc so the stories of HP are great IMO and wish those types of stories were available when I was little.

ks:cool:

I was a teacher of middle school age behavior problem students and I can tell you as a teacher, I was very pleased to see students embrace these books and actually look forward to spending time with a good book.

These books and movies may not be our idea of childhood entertainment, but they do capture childrens imagination and encourage reading. Nothing wrong can be said about that.

As for my own personal take of the movies. I saw the latest one last week and it was alright. Not the best movie I've ever watched, not the worst. It was nice time spent with my g/f. I'm sure you could say it was good time spent with your child as well.

BTW, did you kid like it?

I enjoyed the books as well as the movies. I thought I should read the books since my children where reading them. There not that far off from the si/fi fantasy I read myself. The last movie was with a diffrent director then the other two. It seemed to be alot darker then the other two.

So that's how it is in Germany eh? Dating your children, sheesh....

I knew someone would be dumb enough would come along and take that the wrong way. Glad to see you were first in line John. :)

I saw the first movie on cable when there was nothing else on, and I actually liked it. Oh, and I'm 33.
