We normally just link to the forums but this weekend we had some time to get some of the new Home page done.
Ck it out and tell us what you think...

Click on the Jason Cramer story and the Chris Chow story. I think it came out cool.

The chat room is linked too and the contact is back up and working. Now links and gear. It Never ends.....:D

I think the outstanding members thing is cool, but I think you might catch some flak from some of the members on here for using Chris Chow because his TR is powered by a SBC and not a Buick Turbo V6:( I personally don't care because I think Chris's car is awesome (it's currently the quickest stock suspension G-body and can be seen on Wolfe Racecraft's website) and he is a very cool member, but don't be surprised if you get some negative comments from some of the members.....

Anyways I like it and I hope you add more members:)

BTW, it's also good to see you're letting everybody know that the Atomic Launch car belongs to Ricardo LaCosta (DFAST1TTYPE on here) Just make sure you you change the part about it being an '87 GN cause it's actually an '86 WH1 T-type:D ;)

Chows car is a great example of a fine race car that is extremely fast, but as Brick says it ain't a Buick TR unless its powered by Buick. WE4 is'nt your GN powered by a SBC?

It really caught me off guard when getting into the sight this morning. VERY cool! Now all we gotta do is get that merchandise section going so I can buy some stuff!!

Yes,

1 of the 5 is sbc powered.
That car started out in one direction, then took off in another. It is for sale on Ebay right now.

That still doesn't take away from the fact of Chris chow's dedicated membership and his car gets alot of attention. he also owns several TR's and works on just about everybodys cars in the bay area.

I just cannot win. I try to make something nice and get flak for it.

Cal Hartlines car will be up there too but he needs to get me the info part of his bio. Then his car will be up too.

Chris' car does generate a lot of attention for our cars and that's good. I think every other website I've been on someone has posted a link to one of h is videos. I always have to explain it's not a V6 :p

Thanks Bruce

Bruce,

Thanks for posting the information on Jason and Chris.

FYI Chris has gone 8.39@166mph tipping the scales over 3550.
He was over 3625lbs on the 8.43 pass.
He is swapping a spool for the detroit locker and taking out maybe 100lbs.
Looking for 7s in 2004, still with the stock suspension.
He would still be running the v-6 except that he got a deal on the
rieger motor for about 1/3 of its value. He could push the v-6 and have to freshen it or he could run the v-8 with less boost than the v-6 and make more power and never hurt it.

BTW he sold the v-6 for more than he bought the v-8 for.

In regards to Cal, the rumor is he sold or is selling the car...

cALS CAR WILL BE UP THERE THIS WEEK TOO.

And yes he did sell the car , he was waiting for them to pick it up today as we were speaking.

Chow's car does look nice and he has put alot of work into it and used a turbo.

But a GN with a SBC IS NO LONGER A GN, It's just another chevy

Jim

It is a WE4 not a GN ;)
It also still has the factory T Tops:eek:

i like the idea, but that "World Wide Web Under Boost" slogan is not on there right. the word "boost" is WAAAY to far over, it should be under the rest of the slogan, not in its on spot on the page. also it should be in a cooler font, maby somthing that looks fast (I.E. Italics at least) with an exclimation point.

other than that, me likey;)

I love the new intro page! Keep adding more well-known members...like me! (just kidding)

Yeah Chris Chow's GN does get ALOT of attention...but when people look at that car on the intro page and then see Cal's and Race Jace's GNs having a stage v6 motor and a STOCK block v6 running in the 9's and 8's...that will draw attention too! get a couple of 7 second 1/4 stage 2 v6 GNs on there and nobody will even complain about Chris' car...

? about outstanding members on TB Home page

OK I have an innocent question & don't mean to make waves.
I just want to ask the moderators/owners of tb this.

Do you soley earn to be featured as an outstanding member because you have the fastest cars or pour the most $$ into them.

Will any of the slower second class members get a shot
at being featured.

Sometimes it is nice to see features about someone on your own level.

Again I don't mean to turn this into a bitch session or any disrespect.. Just wondering.

It would be very cool to have a featured member type thing or something like that.

IMO there is absolutely nothing wrong with Jason's car being on that page. It is a fine example of what the stock motor is capable of and Jason is an oustanding member in the Buick V6 community and he makes alot of great parts for our cars.

I don't agree with the other car being there though. I don't believe that car is in the spirit of Turbo V6 power that this site should be trying to maintain. Don't get me wrong I still think it is a nice car, but the arguments that it use to be a WE4, or it has a stock suspension, or the owner is a nice guy, don't change my opinion about it.

Flame suit on. I've stated my opinion and I'm not going to respond to those who disagree with me and start a pissing match here.

PS Littlesix steve I would love to see your car on that page

take care
