I haven't even checked to see if it's in a chiltons somewhere, but has anyone replaced the weatherstripping on the roof for a t-top optioned car? I asked a local mechanic, he said it's more trouble than it's worth and he didn't even want to try because it would cause so many other problems. I personally think he has no idea how to do it. If theres a shop out there that will do it, how much would they charge for the labor?

Did mine about 2 years ago...it is very tedious because you have to make sure all the old adhesive is cleaned off before you glue the new weatherstripping in place...as to whether it's worth the trouble...it was to me...the old weatherstripping was starting to crack and just look old...now it looks as new as the day I bought it in 87...I went the full route though and removed all the trim including the center piece...cleaned up any rust and gave it good coats of POR...if you have driven in the rain or washed your car I will guarantee there is rust...as for cost at a shop...in my opinion I wouldn't trust them to it do it right...they most likely won't take the time to clean everything real well plus they may damage trim pieces which are no longer available...of you have the time do it yourself...if you decide to tackle it yourself let me know and I can Email you tips and hints...
