That's always been the test for me. Check the threads for use.
I have found it VERY common to get used parts from dealerships (not directly from GM). For whatever reason, parts are installed then removed (testing maybe) or new parts installed and the "good" condition used parts restocked in their place. "Shelf-wear" can take it toll as well.
But "NEW" or "NOS" implies as good as they come from GM (which, as Eric mentioned, soemtimes isn't so great).
Sounds like an honest mistake to me. Take salvageV6's great advice and send some pictures/get the refund. Then kiss and make-up.

Maybe that's the case and 49 just didn't inspect them very good to see that they were used.My original intent wasn't to flame the guy or even bring his name into it.Until people started asking.The original post just asked if it was possible to get used parts when buying new from GM.But I've been detailing and showing cars for 20 years.I've prolly bought a dozen sets over the last 15 years and I've got new sidemarkers here in the wrapper and on my 85 GN so I have no doubt these are not new.So maybe it was an honest mistake.I didn't set out to ruin his reputation over a hundred bucks.I'll sell them as used and chalk it up as a bad investment.I'm over it.I got the answer I was looking for.I'll even delete this thread if you wish 49?Like I said before I don't hold grudges.
Welll where do I start in this..... I started the thread looking for the lens... 49 posted saying he had them.. I said I was intrested but wanted to see pics.. he said he would get me some... never did and then said they were sold to someone else......hmmmmmmmm......sounds fishy to me
