Cut and buffed, looked perfect. With-in 24 hours a dull haze showed up. So I used the polishing compound again. Looked great, 24 hours later the dull shine was back. I painted my 87 GN with PPG's Shop Line and cleared it with U-Pol. I wet sanded it to 2500 and then I used 3000 and 5000 Trizac. For the compounds I used Mequires 105 and 205. My question is what the *** is this reappearing dull look? TIA everyone.

Good question. I use the same Meguires 105 and 205 products you use, and my car looks like freeking black mirror! Never hazes up. What products to you use after the Mequires? I'm a bit of a stickler and use Griot's Garages waxes and glazes.

Solvent is flashing out, let it sit longer before buffing. Sometimes sand it and let it sit a day before buffing. Could be the compound also, some have lots of fillers that make it look buffed but really still requires more buffing, days later it shows. I have switched from 3m compounds because of this. Once done with first compound you can mist on wax and grease remover through a spray bottle and wipe of to remove any fillers and see how it looks before proceeding to finer compound.

After applying meguires 205 a second time and working it in for 3 additional passes the haze had been removed almost completely.
