I was just asked about the torque pattern for stock heads. I'll post it here for reference:

6 1 3 7
X X X X Exhaust ports
8 4 2 5
That's for 85 + factory heads. If you have an 84:
2 1 3 4 Valvetrain
6 5 7 8 Exh ports
Book says torque to 80 ft/lbs. Remember - that's for stock bolts - others may be different if you modded them.
