four years ago I assembled my motor with stock replacement fel-pro head bolts. Now I would like to install an alky system and regret using SR head bolts.I know its not proper practice but do you think I could drain the coolant and replace the bolts 1 at a time with ARP's?

You would have to take them all out and torque them all in the proper sequence. Not one at a time. I doubt you are gaining anything if you did change them.

I used TTY bolts and stock composite HG's on my stock engine combo. I regularly ran that engine at 28-29 psi boost and spun it up to 5900-6000. That engine made between 500-550 and only lost a HG when I got lean and encountered detonation. If I stayed safe, I never had a HG problem.

Nothing wrong with TTY head bolts if installed properly......and they can be re-use oned time and one time only. I got that directly from the release engineer who was responsible for the headgaskets and head bolts on these engines.

Interesting about the reusing thing. I've often suspected they might be reusable but it was never worth finding out to me. One precaution I would take if I tried it would be to check them with a straight edge or even a set of calipers. If there is any narrowing DON'T USE THEM!
