#8445 casting heads are what you have on your engine now. Those are the correct OE heads for 84-87 Turbo Regals/Rivs + some others like '84 4.1 and probably NA motors too(?). I think '83 also used these, but dont remember for sure. The prior casting was #6293 which had different shaped ports I think (rounded) and all didnt have bridged coolant passages. They also have std instead of metric bolt holes on the ends unlike the later model 8445's. Anyway, to answer your question, yes of course 8445 ported will work :)
I have a real nice set of 8445's ported/polished w/ 1.77 and 1.50's waiting to go on my 4.1 project.

heads

a guy here has these heads for sale for 475.00. think this is a good price??

That's a good price for ported heads assuming they've been rebuilt as in new guides, seals, valves, valvejob, and surfacing.

As weird as it sounds, I'm running 6293 heads on my car. This particular set has bridged water passages and uses metric threads. They are identical to the 8445 heads in every way except for the part#. My other set of 6293 heads uses standard threads but has bridged passages. It seems these were made in many variations with the same part number. Maybe it's determined by year? I have no idea but at least all 8445 heads were the same.

Thats a great price considering........does he have info on the heads like who did the work and what exactly was done. Were they flowed and does he have the flow information?

that is a great price!!! My heads are still in the shop for final assembly! manley severe duty valves (1.50 and 1.77), 95 lb springs, bronze guides, 3 angle valve job, decking, magged, and then polished...they are just putting the finishing touches on them the next week or so, and I can finally button up my brother's hot air motor!!! Total cost to me, with a discount has been 1100 in parts and machining! great shop, and they are assembling most of the motor for me to make sure I got all the clearances correct....block was .030 a few years ago, with very low mileage....forged pistons, 204/214 cam, clevite bearings throughout, and i am trying to find a good set of roller rockers...but they are so damn expensive!!! I may just stick with the stockers for now until i get the turbo and such taken care of!!! oh well...If it were me looking for a set of heads, 475 is a great price!
