I have the ARP stock head studs (123-4003) and some older 14 bolt GN1s. Other than the center 2 being .15 short with .040 head gaskets, they look like they would be fine. I know that ARP 223-4204 GN1 specific studs have 12 pt nuts, but otherwise is there any difference?

I'm thinking about just ordering some 5" center studs to replace the 4.75" I have and go with that. I have read that I could just use the shorter ones but I'd rather just have one less thing to worry about with all of the sealing issues anyway.

Thanks,
Tom

There's nothing wrong with using the shorter studs...just install the nut first so it's flush with the top of the stud then install the stud...did that on mine and have had zero problems...
