header bolts backing out?

What is the best method to secure header bolts in aluminum heads? I use antisieze on the bolts and re- tighten them about 4 times after they have cooled off but after a few runs at the track they are loose again? I have tried it with header gasklets and without, same results Thanks

If you really do mean antiseize... that is likely your problem though I don't know for sure.

Yes I do mean antiseize , I assumed you had to use that on aluminunm heads so the bolts will come out later on?

I've always used blue loc-tite.

If they are bolts, and not studs, then you can use those little washers with the "ears" that you bend over, holding the bolt from turning. Not sure where you get them, though. But LocTite should work on either bolts or studs, at least for a while- but heat breaks it down, so not sure how long it will last.

it is the same size bolts. but you will have some left over thats all.

you can drill safety wire holes in the header bolts...put some anti-seze on the bolts...torque the bolts to spec...thread& twist the safetywire properly..they wil not come loose!. joe
