I had my header welded but upon installation I have one extra nut left. It screws to the top of one of the header bolts I believe. I have 3 of them. One holds big top bracket to the alternator another holds the dipstick in place. I cant remember or find for he life of me where the third one goes. I think all 3 came off the top header bolts???? Any help greatly appreciated. Frustrated as hell. Does anyone use header gaskets as mine have no gaskets between? Thanks again.

I know the third stud doesn't have anything mounted to it. I know thats the way its been on my last two cars. I know the first stud holds the L bracket to the AC comperssor and I believe the Y bracket on the back of the ALT too? So maybe the first stud get both nuts. I've used Felpro 1400 on mine with no Copper RTV. If your steering shaft is in it will usually block the third upper bolt on the driverside. Some people usually trim the stud down with a grinder so it fits in.

It may hold the "L" bracket behind the AC compressor. Goes on the bottom front stud.

driver's side..... top front stud is for y shaped alt bracket.... lower front stud is for L shaped ac compressor bracket... top middle for dipstick tube...

Damn. I can't believe how good the help is here on this forum. I can't wait to get this car "baselined" after it sat in the prior owners garage for 10 years. Just tring to work out the kinks, then the mods and have not turned wrenches in years. Thanks again for the responses. Header is in and no leaks!!!!! Hotwire and fuel pump this weekend:biggrin:
