Im just trying to get some feedback on what to run. I was thinking of going with GM headgaskets and bolts. I just wanted to get some opinions from some of the experts out there. Thanks in advance.

Im not looking to go crazy with the boost. This is going to be a pump gas motor. But I plan on running alchy down the road and dont want to be messing with replacing the headgaskets at that time.

Since you have a similar goal as myself, The stock gaskets will be more than enough and ARP bolts. I just received a set of P&P heads today and a PT61 a few days ago and was told that the stock gaskets was the right way to go. I also like the fact that the stock gaskets will spit out before hard parts start breaking.

Marc, Im running the same setup. Big valve ported irons and a PT61. I figured that the factory gaskets lasted this long, another set of them couldnt hurt. I also like what Ive read about cometics except I read that you always have to retorque them. Im not sure if this is true but Id rather not have to do that all the time. As for the bolts, I know alot of guys swear by ARP's but a friend of mine tried them on his Olds motor and he said he didnt like how they felt torqueing down. He went back to a set of stock bolts and hasnt had a problem.

Wow, how do you like that setup on pump gas? I can't wait to install everything this weekend. I was told by a person that I will be using to build a shortblock for me said that a customer's son or his sone(can't remember) was running this setup with heads from Tony at VPE and it runs 11.70s @ 116 mph at 16-17 psi on straight pump gas. That's exactly what I was looking for with 18-20 psi.

just did mine 2 weeks ago with stock gaskets and TTY bolts. Also like the fact they will pop before something breaks. Mine popped due to bad gas. Car feel's stronger now. Maybe cause I have not driven it in 15 mos.:p ;)

Marc, I havent run it yet. Those are the parts I have on the shelf waiting to go on. From the people that I have talked to they said with all the stuff im doing it should be in the 12.0s on pump gas. Hell, if I can be in the low 12s and still be able to daily drive it ill be happy.:D

I hear you man. I just looked at the heads from Tony at VPE and they look awesome. Also he ports the poop out of the intake as well. I will post pictures for anyone that wants them. I'm sure low 12s will be easy for both of us. 11s with good stall, tires and locked in the right place would get some damn good trapspeed as well. P&P heads, intake and more efficient turbo should make a huge difference.

If you can get some pics of a ported intake that would be cool. Im going to be home porting mine next week and Id like to get an idea how much material I can hog out of it. Thanks
