Anyone know of a glue or a technique to repair cracks and some separated pieces (the area that the sun visor goes through)in the backup board?
Thanks,
Jeff

I've always used weldwood contact cement, I've used it on everything from vinyl tops to headliners to door panels. Any upholsterer I know swears by it. It may be difficult to find, and needs to be sprayed out of a gun, because brushing or rolling might not be economical for what your doing. At the very least a can of 3M spray adhesive should suffice. Spray both pieces of the repair and let "tack", then press together firmly. You can also glue a thin piece of fabric (whatever you have handy) on at least the back to add strength, also recovering the board w/ new material will help hold it all together. HTH

The best thing for repairing cracks in the headliner board is aluminum A/C tape.

+1 on the alum tape...very sticky and rigid enough to give strength...

I used 4 minute epoxy and sanded it when it was dry…..turned out like new:biggrin: . I also removing the old headliner material use water ;) from a garden hose with medium pressure and finished it off and an ice scraper and again sanded…regards

Rick, Having A Problem With Headliner Materal For An Astro-roof. The Materal Backing On The Roof Slider Cover Is Not As Thick As The Regualr Headliner Materal. My Concern Is That The Slider Will Hang Up And Rip The Materal. Any Suggestions?? Thanks.
