Again this is just a RUMOR, But I hear Turboneitcs is going out of business and Garrett is filing bankruptcy.

Anyone else hear this?

Unless Garrett is getting taken to the cleaners by Ford for supply of turbos for their new twin turbo trucks, I don't see them going anywhere.

T-netics? No clue, but it wouldn't surprise me. Times are uber tough everywhere these days.

Yeah, I worked for a company that did the prototypes and I was able to talk to one of the engineers. He told me that they are Schwitzer turbo's really, we (Borg and Warner) purchased the company for the turbo knowledge.

What technology???? ANyone that can take apart a hairdryer can build a turbo!

:)

It wouldn't surprise me. Everybody I know that switches from Turbonetics seems to go faster so maybe everybody is getting smart and staying away from the CPT turbos... :D

A representitive from Turbonetics posted on yellowbullet that they are NOT going out of business.

I was hoping not as I just put a T-Netics unit on a car today.

I was interested in hearing their S197 Kit will be 50 state legal soon.
I might have to guilt trip the father in law to come to the dark side.
This also gives hope they may do something for the new Camaro.
Turbo 2010 Bubble Bee, may I have this?

Wonder what it would do with a PTE unit?

I am guessing about the same.
Some times they share sources for components from what I heard...
Hopefully we will have some real world data on the 106 Billet Wheel from Precision in a week.
Since this car runs on gas and has a different suspension set up the comparison will be far from scientific.

BTW I have only used Precision Turbo stuff on my cars but I keep open minded about other options.
I don't think it is fair to bash a vendor or manufacturer's products because of brand loyalties to the competition.
There are many ways to skin a cat you don't have to copy one...

They definetly do.The new T-netics unit I got from Jack has a PTE ex housing on it,of course it,The name was ground off though.

Good stuff there Ted and Otto. Ted, you just can't give up taking cheap shots at me can ya. You are a sad example of a Buick owner. Once again attempting to hurt my business with BS statements.
Otto, as for the exhaust housing being a PTE housing, the only reason for that is the Tnetics S trim turbine wheel is too large to fit into the Tnetics exhuasthousing. Their GN housing does not have enough material left to make a good seal with the DP after machining.

Im not taking shots at anyone or their product:confused:

As a matter of fact I may be calling for another one this week.

Jack as far as B.S. your old intercooler was junk when I said it was and EVERYBODY SWITCHED so IT MUST BE TRUE ;) . As far as T-Netics your car is a perfect example of what I said above. What is so different about our combos? Maybe if you switch to a better turbo that might just be the ONLY difference between us...... Oh and the intercooler...

Just the facts..... Jack....
