Has anyone installed a Stock Turbo Shield on a GT Turbo preferably a GT3255? I have been told that these fit?

I have found that the center section is to narrow and the shield does not line up. I have a friend with the same turbo and same problem.

Has anyone had a stock shield fit? If so what mods were done if any??

Any feedback would be appreciated.

I have a GT3255 and my stock shield does not fit. I am probably going to have it cut.

Where does it not fit exactly?

Mike, it's the center section of the turbo, it is to thin when you set the shield down on top it hits the heads of the bolts that go to the main bracket that bolts to the block.

The two holes on the shield are about a half inch off.

Again if you have done an install, could please send pictures.

The GT3255 turbo is not designed to be fitted with a stock turbo shield. It is the cartridge size that causes this. It's just a little thinner or smaller than a normal T-series cartridge is. I've heard of some guys making the shield fit with their own modifications but that's about all I know. Who needs a stinkin shield anyways?! Show that thing off! j/k :)

I know how you guys feel...I wish there was an easy way to make the shield fit on that turbo but there isn't.

Thanks for the reply Don. I didn't think there was a way for the shield to fit with out some mods.

If I come up with something I'll be sure and to share with everyone.

Thanks
