Not familiar with your car, but, start with where the two heater hoses go into the firewall. Those two nipples are the heater core. On the 87 regal you take off the big bulge of plastic on the fire wall. About a dozen screws or so. Just look at it carefully you should be able to figure it out.

Thank you for the reply...

No difference in body styles, my turbo has a Q Jet, your's injected...

I've done heater cores on a '78 El Camino (a g-body), and both a '85 and '87 Regal. Been awhile but they are easy, and were all the same.

Remove the wiper arms, remove the trim at the base of the windshield.

On the passenger side, up top of the firewall bulge is a plastic piece. Most/some of which is an air intake grate. There are a handful of screws to remove, then that piece can be removed.Don't force it, if it doesn't pull off easy, you missed a screw or two.

The heater core is now right there. IIRC, it is one screw to remove a spring bracket, then the heater core can be lifted out. Of course need to remove the two hoses.

There is also a ground strap/braid for the heater core, be sure to reconnect it.

The replacement style aluminum heater core is designed different from the original copper one. That little bracket with the ground strap won't fit. Since it's aluminum is it OK to not attach the bracket?
