I went out on a test drive with my potential buyer for my GN and at about 8psi, the car looses all boost and falls on it's face. But then it drives regularly with no real boost. If I try to get on it, it just kind of dies for a moment, makes a small bang (like a IC pipe hitting something), building no boost, then picks back up again once I take the foot of the acellerator. The car ran perfect before that. Checked all the hose clamps, all the vacuum lines, all seem to be in good working order. The car has the Spearco FMIC on it, and the hoses look fine and it idles fine: no excessive temperature, FP around 60, oil pressure around 35psi, I am stumped. I did a search on the board and didn't find much.

Someone PLEASE help!

Don't have one.....if anyone in the Denver area might have one that I could borrow, that would be great.........I looked a little more on the board and it seems like it could be an ignition thing. Possibly?

It's a possibility. However, a scantool really does help in these situations. I'm not too far, (Laramie Wy) but I only have the old version of turbolink.

Spark blowout could be a problem. How long has it been since you've changed plugs/wires?

Is it possible that something is hitting causing a false knock reading? (This is why a scantool would be helpful.)

Well, I have actually NEVER changed the plugs/wires in it. I have had the car for s little over a year and it seems to always run like a champ.....untill tonight! Maybe I might bring it down to Engines to Go in Englewood, CO......don't know. I'll check the resistance across the coils in the morning...too damn cold right now and don't really have the patience for it.

It's on the board....selling it for 6,000 because just bought TTA #437 and only have a 1 car garage, and I really don't want my GN to spend the night out in the cold, winter air. I am just looking to get what I have left on the loan.

Oh yea, and I fixed the problem....turns out one of the hose clamps was not properly tightened. After I found that, took her out....runs like a top!

A bad MAS will cause this type of issue, can you check that. I Know ours wouldn't run, idle and backfired when the MAS sensor puked.
