Help - changing filter and found this!!

Dropped the pan to change the filter and found this.
Brian Hofer trans with a Stage Rite brake.Tranny feels normal.
Help.

Looks like a homemade baffle. It will be fine without it. Definately nothing specfic to the 2004r family.

AH-HA!
I was thinking more along the lines of holding the wires in place, but you are correct. It is a baffle for the slot in the case for the linkage rod. Fits perfectly, once I changed my perspective.

i would suggest adding fluid, the metal thing and the dollar are dry

I would replace the worn out dollar with one of the newer mints. Might even upgrade to a 5 or 10 dollar bill.
