I got a autogauge water temp that I need to find out where to put the sending unit in the block at. I tried searching all the forums for trs and no one explains how to hook up the bigger mech. sending units.
I'm sure someone has done this. Please help me

Sounds like you might need to drill a hole in the intake manifold through a water jacket wall, and tap the hole out to match the threads of the fitting. You might want to remove the manifold, I don't know if I'd want aluminum shavings in my coolant.

Or if thats too much work, perhaps you could figure out something with the TB coolant lines...

Why a mechanical coolant guage? Why not an electrical? I would think a mechanical coolant guage would be prone to leakage.

I'm sure I don't need to tap the intake, at least I sure don't want to. Someone in this world I am sure hooked up a mechanical gauge on a hot air engine.
I was thinking of just sticking the temp sensor part right inside my lower radiator hose by the water pump. It should be ok, right?

I'll have to take a look at mine again, but I thought I replaced the stock sensor and used an adapter. Then put the new one in there.
I'll look tonight and see if I can give you a better answer.

there is 2 coolant temp sensors on the engine. one for the computer and one for the idiot light remove the idiot light sensor and put your sender in that hole. they are by the t-stat, if you have a scanner to find out which is which.

I have 3 "ports" for the water jacket on my intake, 1 is on the pass. top for the heater hose I believe, 1 on pass. front for a temp switch, and 1 on top front drivers side for the ecm temp.
My problem is the temp bulb that needs to get in the water doesn't get held tight in these without the extra bigger adaptor, which the intake isn't threaded for that big adaptor.
