HELP! Lost distributor marks while priming

Hope you guys can help....
i used a sharpie to mark the distributor so i could prime the oil system... the marker rubbed off and now i have no idea which way it needs to be facing.
I'm also having trouble getting the distributor to mate up with the oil pump rod. Any help would be great, thanks!

What kind of motor are we talking here...a Buick turbo motor with a distributor...are you talking about the cam sensor...or are we talking about a different motor

nevermind........i was having one of those nights that tested my love for the car hahaha. Solved the problem myself with a couple hours of reading the forum and cracking the book.
