Have a fresh new car. I'll start with this... 50 pounders, Te61,3 thdp, vigilante converter, Ok firts things first, What fuel press. Do I want to start with? Never had 50's before? Then How do I tune with the alcky?? Thanks for all the help

Dont even touch alcohol until your car is in a good state of tune in the first place.
Is your chip burned for the 50's? Base FP is set by the chip maker, and you can vary from there (slightly)
What chip is in the car now?

Get your car tuned and put some racegas in and make sure it can handle the boost, and then start messing with alky

It is a Testa chip, that's about all I know about it. I have the Alky set at min. spray now. I can run 20 psi without knock. I really haven't started tuning it yet, Dont have plates on the car yet.

You need to talk to Testa (TurboJim) give him the info off the chip, and he can tell you if it is a chip for 50's and what FP to run, probably somewhere ~43psi

I take it the previous owner did all the mods?
Do you have all the basics like a Scanmaster, boost gauge, etc?

For 20psi do you might have a bigger IC or ported heads.

How much boost do you want to run? That turbo can probably handle 25psi no problem

Black buick what boost are you running with your alky kit, pump speed and turn on point? I just hooked my smc kit up and got up to 19lbs with no knock. It has been raining here ever since I hooked it up so I haven't been able to try any higher. I have my turn on point at 10 lbs right now and pump speed is at #6. If I turn the boost up to 20-21 and start to see knock do I just turn up the pump speed?

If your running alky with the Thrasher 92 I would turn it on around 13psi instead of 10. I was turning mine on at 13psi with a T-100 with no knock

Turn the pump speed up to 9 and the turn the boost up slowly. You should be able to start at around 21 safely. It also depends on what size jet you are running. Are you running the #10 jet?

Black,
Sorry so long to get back to you. I'm using the jet that came with the kit I'm not sure what # it is. I just ordered my T-100 today. What point on the dial is 13# (9:00 or 12:00)? I'll turn my pump speed up to 9 and try that. I have the boost set at 21 lbs now with no knock with the T-92. If I'm not getting any knock do I start turning the pump speed lower or leave it at 9 and keep turning the boost up until I see knock? And if there are better jets where do I get them? TIA:D

The SMC uses good jets, you should have everything you need with the kit. I would run the biggest one they included to start out with

You could turn the pump speed down to match 21psi.....

But what fun is that?:D

That turbo's sweet spot is 23-24 psi so see if you can get there with no knock.

Dont forget when you get the 100 chip you will have to start over again due to the increased timing.

I dont have an SMC kit so I cant tell you where to point the dial, but turn it up in small increments. It should not be difficult
