My cars been parked for about 6months now, so I havent driven it in quite a while. What I want to know is iof running too rich can cause detonation like as if running too lean? Before I parked it last year, I was getting knock under heavy boost and I really want to fix that.

Also because I havent driven my car in a while, what is a good level to have the O2 at? I honestly forgot.

Thanks for the help

Running rich will make it detonate but it has to be pretty rich to do that. My friend's car had a detonation problem and it was right about the time there were some threads in the tech area about the subject. We took a chance and started lowering fuel pressure and the detonation went away. On pump gas, ~820-900 is a good range as O2s aren't real accurate. On race gas, ~780.

WOT .810 or .800 is our sweet spot. Usually that's about the only time you need to know O2 readings... That's on full race gas in our set up... The hot airs like it a little rich in our experience...
