Battery is new and has 12.6 volts, 10.7k ohms across coil towers, reading at coil connector
P-12v
N-12v
M-10v
L-7v
K-gnd
J-10v
H-gnd
G-7v
 
Dude, it could be something minor is the crank sensor connected and working how about the wiring harness? What kinda shape is it in??
 
Harness is in good shape and everything is connected, what's the test procedure to tell if the crank and cam sensors are working ?
 
Was there any recent work done or have you never had spark? Was the car running recently?
 
Don't worry about the cam sensor it controls injector timing not spark . I would check you ECM power and your crank sensor.
 
Is the process the same for checking sensors on 84/85 vs 86/87 ? And thanks for your help.
Car did not run when I bought it had a hacked up engine harness in it I just finished installing another one.
 
Not sure how to check it. Followed the no start tree on vortex buicks and it says I should have varying voltage on ECM terminal B-5 and at the crank sensor terminal B and I'm seeing a steady 6 volts while cranking so I'm guessing maybe I have a bad crank sensor.
 
Was trying not to start dropping money on unnecessary parts figured there had to be a way to test it.
 
i have this same problem.... i accidentally cut my resistance wires and put regular wire . would this cause a NO spark issue?
 
No injector pulse? Cam sensor. When you lose a cam sensor while driving the car will "limp home" in batch fire mode. Once you shut the car off it will not restart.

Also check the "inj" fuse.

If the wire is good, no.
If the wire is bad, yes. :)


i soldered the resistance wires back in how it should be and still nothing ... NO spark. im so frustrated i thinking the crank sensor... do you know how i can check it?
