Hi, I'm in the Dallas area & to try & make a long story short.....About 4 months ago I heard a pop while under acceleration & car proceeded to die. Obvious findings were that I twisted my crank in half & took out 2 pistons. I helped my very good friend & fellow lspbc member Bryan Alberti tear the engine down, I bought a new turbo crank, a couple of pistons(thanks Jack Laswell) & decided to add an RJC girdle this time around. Found a machine shop that said they could handle it & delivered the block to them. Well, turns out that AFTER installing the girdle, doing a line bore, cyclinder honing, etc,etc they find a crack right near the rear main seal about a 1 inch long!! Now the block was pretty greasy & it was in an area that was covered in silicone, so myself or Bryan didn't notice anything, but seems to me the machine shop should have found that when prepping/cleaning the block!! It was very obvious when I went by & looked at it. Crack is not in the curved area of the seal, but on the flat side where the rear seal sits. They say it could be repaired, but I don't know???? Any opinions???Anyways, if not, I'm in desperate need of some help in locating another block. I'm using my stock pistons, so would need a stock bore block. Any help would be greatly appreciated!! You can call me @ 469-323-2410 or contact Bryan (turbotoy on here) since he's going to be doing the final engine assembly..Thanks, Thomas

Chris Mcdade in Houston usually has some for $350.
Check the parts for sale section, he's on this site sometimes.

Standard bore blocks

Bishop's Engine supply has 109 blocks. I have bought three from them. They are located in downtown Dallas off of Corinth Street. They are an engine core supply house. Best thing to do is go by there and pick through the sea of blocks. They have them separated, so it is not that bad. Last I remember I think I paid about 100 or so for a short block...
